About the Department

1. Department came into existence in 1999 with the introduction of B.Sc Computer Science
2. Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) was introduced in the year 2000.
3. Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) was started in 2002.
4. Master of Science in Information Technology (M.Sc IT) was started in 2005.
5. B.Voc (Software Development) course was introduced in 2015. 

Department of computer science was established in the year 1999, with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of computer science.  With rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need of innovation, the department has always produced quality professionals, holding important positions in the field of information technology  The department started three years Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) programme in  2000 which was among the first such programmes in Ferozepur.  The department introduced PGDCA in 2002 and M.Sc (IT) in  2005 with the aim to develop core competence in computer science and prepare the students to carry out development work. Besides, the department is running under graduate programmes like B.Sc. Computer Science, B.A Computer Science etc .  Presently the department has four batches of BCA, three batches of PGDCA and two batches of M.Sc (IT).  The Department regularly conducts several academic programmes at Post Graduation level and Graduation level like Seminars, Debates, Quiz contests, workshops, group discussions and student exchange programme. Our regular visiting faculties are Dr. Gurwinder Singh (GNDU, Amritsar), Dr. Satish (PU Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur), Dr. Manish (PU Regional Centre, Muktsar), Dr. Vishal Goyal (Punjabi Uni Patiala), Dr. Vikram (CDLU, Sirsa ) and Prof Raman Maini (UIET Patiala). The department has 6 Air-conditioned computer labs consisting of 195 latest technology computers having configuration i3, i5 and equipped with licensed softwares.  All these labs are connected with structured and Wi-Fi network having leased line of 100 Mbps. We subscribe to various periodical & research journals of computer science for enhancing and updating the knowledge of the students.The department has learned & experienced faculty members who have presented various research papers in different conferences & these papers have been published in National Journals. Consistently good results and placements of the students in the reputed companies (Infosys, TCS, HCL, Accenture,Wipro Wase) have brought credit to our department. It is always our earnest endeavor to tie up with renowned MNC's  for the better placement of the students.  The moral values which are given by our esteemed Principal Dr.Sangeeta has transformed the life of students.
